WINDHOEK

In a bid to provide easy and accessible ATM services to its clients, Bank Windhoek in partnership with ATM Solutions on Friday introduced mobile ATMs.

The first ever mobile solar energy powered “ATM on Wheels” in the country, will roll out the bank’s cash express machines across the country.

“ATM on Wheels” can be transported and parked at any event or venue in the country, including golf, sport and auctions days amongst others, as it is self-sustained.

The mobile ATM unit has been custom built with solar panels and batteries to provide power and satellite for sending and receiving information.
The trailer is installed with a cash express machine and withdrawals and balance enquiries can be made in real time.

“Bank Windhoek is excited to launch the first ever mobile solar supply ‘ATM on Wheels’ in Namibia,” said the bank’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) James Hill on Friday.

“This is the next step towards making banking as accessible for our clients as possible.”

He said the bank has identified the coast as an ideal area to launch the concept and therefore Bank Windhoek clients, or any other person with a Saswitch card, can look forward to using the mobile ATMs this holiday season.

“They can use the ATM in the Henties Bay area from 19 to 26 December and 27 December to 11 January in the Swakopmund and Walvis Bay areas.”
In addition, Bank Windhoek and ATM Solutions Namibia are rolling out more than 150 cash express machines as part of their agreement with 125 machines already installed, mostly in shops.ǟ
