Brave Warriors assistant coach Robert Nauseb says his charges have learnt from the mistakes of last Friday’s 1-0 defeat to Mali and come today at the Sam Nujoma Stadium, the Warriors will be ready to ruffle the feathers of the visiting Eagles of Mali.

The Warriors will be out to make amends for last Friday’s 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualifiers first leg narrow defeat away in Bamako, and coach Nauseb says their first point of departure will be to correct their mistakes when the two sides meet tonight.

Speaking to New Era Sport yesterday ahead of tonight’s encounter, Nauseb – himself a Brave Warriors legend – said he strongly believes they have done their homework and will approach tonight’s match with the caution it deserves.

“The team is ready, we have been training very hard trying to correct the mistakes that we made in Mali. I think the guys have learnt their lesson and the only thing we need to do is to try and correct where we went wrong and to try to convert our goal-scoring chances. It will be a great game and we are prepared for this game,” he said.

Nauseb, who in his heyday played for South African giants Kaizer Chief, added: “We know where our shortcomings were, we have watched a few clips of ourselves, looking at all those errors we committed in Mali and I think we now know what we need to do going into the second leg. All our players are 100% ready for the second leg and we have no injuries around the team, so I think that’s also a good sign around our readiness for this match,” said
Nauseb.

The match will be played at the Sam Nujoma Stadium in Windhoek behind closed doors due to the Covid-19 pandemic, but the match will be broadcast live on NBC TV.
Guinea currently tops the log table with eight points, followed by Mali who are on seven points and Namibia in third place with three points, while Chad are bottom with no points in Group A of the 2021 Afcon qualifiers.
