The police public relations office has requested the public with information on a hit-and-run accident that happened along Florence Nightingale Street in Khomasdal at around 22h55 on October 31, to come forth with such information.

It was reported 36-year-old Rassy Aubrey was hit by VW Golf while crossing the street and the driver fled from the scene.

Aubrey died in hospital and his next of kin have been informed.
Anyone with information about the accident, or the driver himself, can contact the Serious Crime Unit at the Katutura Police Station.

The Otjiwarongo Police are also looking for anyone with information about the half naked and burnt body of a woman found between Otjiwarongo Military base and Orwetoveni Location around October 30-31, by military officers.

Anyone with information on the identifity of the body and what happened to her are invited to contact the Otjiwarongo Police Station or their nearest police station.

A case of attempted murder was opened at the Mondesa Police Station in Swakopmund after a security guard shot and wounded an alleged housebreaking suspect in the legs.

According to the weekly crime briefing the security guard, who was on duty at Caripian Bar in the DRC suburb, allegedly found the suspect breaking into the premises at 03h00 on October 31.

The suspect/victim was admitted to Swakopmund State Hospital and police investigations continue.
Police at Arandis opened an inquest docket after Mohamed Israel died instantly when his Toyota pick-up overturned on the road between Arandis and Usakos, 35km from Arandis at around 03h00 on October 31.

The deceased was alone in the vehicle and his next of kin are informed. Police investigations continue.
A case of reckless or negligent driving was opened by the Karibib Police after the driver of a Quantum bus hit a cow that was crossing the road, causing serious injury to one of the passengers.

The incident happened at around 04h00 on October 31 on the Omaruru/Karibib road, about 6km from Karibib.
The driver also sustained slight injuries and the passenger was rushed to Windhoek for medical attention.Police investigations continue.

It was reported that 53-year-old Ivonne Botman lost her life when the vehicle she was driving overturned on the Grootfontein/Kombat Road near Peace Garden at around 17h40 on October 30.

The deceased was rushed to the hospital, but she succumbed to her injuries and her next of kin were informed. Police investigations continue.

In Mariental, a 25-year old man was arrested for stabbing another man in the neck with a knife on October 30 at around 14h00 in the bushes behind TransNamib.

The motive for the stabbing is unknown and police investigations continue. A man was run over by a train at the railway crossing near Hoachanas in the Kalkrand District on November 1 at around 03h10 in the morning.
It is alleged that the victim, Abraham Fillipus Howeseb, 36, was intoxicated and was sitting on the railway tracks and died instantly.

The train driver saw Howeseb, but it was too late and he could not stop the train in time, even though he applied the brakes. The next of kin were informed and investigations continue.

It was also reported that 60-year old Dina Kamazandu died on her way to hospital after she was bumped by a car while hitch hiking on October 31 at 04h35 at Epukiro Post 3.
