WINDHOEK – The potential answer to the question or any lingering doubts over the destination of the coveted MTC Premiership title will be finally put to bed tonight when table topping Black Africa square off against title rivals African Stars at the Sam Nujoma Stadium at 19h00.

The Reds trail the Namibian champions by a virtually insurmountable 6-points with three rounds of matches to spare, but have a game in hand over the runaway log leaders. African Stars will be fighting on two fronts having reached the final of the lucrative Bidvest Cup earlier this month and head into tonight’s clash of the titans with one eye fixed firmly on Sunday’s international friendly against visiting South African Premier Soccer League (PSL) champions Mamelodi Sundowns. In tomorrow’s action in the country’s flagship league, Ramblers greet relegation-haunted Rundu Chiefs at the Ramblers field, while Eleven Arrows will be determined to ease their relegation worries in a must-win tie at the expense of United Stars at the Rundu Sports Stadium.

Rejuvenated LHU Blue Waters host Civics in a mid-table clash at the Kuisebmund Stadium in Walvis Bay. Fellow seasiders PC Blue Boys host FNB Orlando Pirates at the Vineta Stadium in Swakopmund to complete the weekend’s lineup. Unless otherwise stated all matches start at 15h00. In mid-week action, Tigers and Tura Magic cancelled each other out in a 1-all stalemate. In all fairness, the result all but killed the slightest hope Tigers might have entertained to topple BA from the pedestal. Match tickets for tonight’s potential title decider between Stars and BA are on sale at all Shoprite and Checkers outlets countrywide, according to a statement issued by African Stars. Tickets purchased in advance will cost N$30. However, latecomers will be obliged to cough up N$50, while VIP tickets are up for grabs at a fee of N$100 in advance and N$150 at the gates. Stars administrative officer Charlain Minnaar, says no cans and bottles will be allowed into the stadium. “There will be sales of beer and soft drinks at the kiosks supplied in plastic glasses, while food will also be sold. If anyone is found with a bottle or can, they will be removed from the stadium by the police and forfeit their entrance fee.”

Moreover, those in possession of accreditation cards will be allowed to enter through the VIP booth, but will not be allowed to occupy seats in the VIP area. Minnaar also cautioned would be unruly supporters to refrain from tossing cans on the pitch, adding that any person raining undesirable objects on the pitch will be taken into custody by the City Police.
