High flying Khomas Nampol FC have a tough assignment this weekend as they face two teams who have yet to taste victory after five rounds of matches in the Namibia Premier Football League 2023/24 season.
Nampol will have a demanding assignment on their hands tomorrow as they confront Okakarara Young Warriors at the Omulunga Stadium in Otjiwarongo. Young Warriors currently find themselves at the bottom of the league table with just one point from five matches, having lost four games and secured one draw. They will be determined to collect their first three points of the season this weekend.
On Sunday, Nampol will be put to the test once again as they face off against Julinho Sporting at the Rundu Sports Stadium. Julinho currently occupies the second-to-last position in the league standings with two points from three matches, comprising two draws and one loss.
Speaking to our publication yesterday, Fortune Eichab, the Khomas Nampol head coach, acknowledged that this weekend won’t be a walk in the park for his team. He said that as a team, they understand both matches will be challenging, considering their opponents’ quest to secure their first maximum points of the season.
Eichab stated, “It won’t be easy. Both matches are sure to be tough since both teams are eager for their first league wins.”
However, Eichab also expressed confidence in his team’s readiness for the weekend challenges. “We have a full squad with no injury concerns, and a weekend off has given us an advantage against the two struggling teams. Nevertheless, the match against Julinho won’t be a walk in the park. However, we are experienced and ready for the challenge, and our approach remains the same—collecting points,” he affirmed.
In other matches scheduled for this weekend, today, Tigers, currently ninth on the log standings, will face Okahandja United at Unam Stadium. Tomorrow, Civics will welcome the coastal outfit, Blue Waters, at Unam Stadium, while Julinho Sporting will host Young Brazilians at the Rundu Sports Stadium.
On Sunday, Civics will take on Okahandja United at Unam Stadium, and Tigers will compete against Blue Waters. Okakarara Young Warriors will square off against Young Brazilians at the Omulunga Stadium. Football enthusiasts eagerly anticipate the exciting weekend fixtures in the NPFL.
