On 24 May 2024, the Jan Möhr sports field in Windhoek was the stage for an exhilarating U/17 clash between CBS Talent and DSFA.

In a match that kept spectators on the edge of their seats, CBS Talent emerged victorious with a narrow 1-0 win.

From the kickoff, it was evident that both teams were determined to claim the victory. CBS Talent’s offensive prowess was highlighted by standout players Xando Matroos, Nathan Damaseb and Graig Muweli. Their relentless attacks culminated in a decisive first-half goal, setting the tone for the rest of the match.

DSFA, despite their loss, delivered an impressive performance. Key players Werner Bock, Johannes Hamutenya and Eliot Ashipala showcased their skills, thwarting numerous CBS advances and maintaining a solid defensive line. Their efforts ensured that CBS Talent could not extend their lead beyond the solitary goal.

Both goalkeepers, Christian Bokatsane of CBS Talent and Leo Scholz of DSFA, were instrumental in the outcome. They executed several critical saves, preventing what could have been game-changing goals. Notably, DSFA midfielder Rowan Cloete, despite his smaller stature, left a significant impact on the field, embodying the phrase “dynamite comes in small packages” with his energetic and dynamic play.

After the match, CBS Talent’s coach Henrico Botes expressed dissatisfaction with his team’s performance, despite the win. “We played bad today. We got the result 1-0, but this is not the CBS I know from how we train. I can’t put my finger on what happened today,” he lamented.

Conversely, DSFA’s U/17 coach Fisharo Tjatindi found positives in his team’s performance. “Although we lost, the team put on a good show,” he stated, acknowledging the hard work and determination exhibited by his players.
