Beauties FC narrowly beat Arrows Ladies 2-1 in a competitive FNB Women’s Super League clash on Saturday.
Helena Amwandangi netted both goals for Beauties and expressed satisfaction with the team’s performance.
“The match was okay. We didn’t get the result we initially wanted, and we didn’t expect them to score. There was some confusion in the first half, but we sorted it out in the second. We just want to keep collecting goals,” she said.
Arrows’ coach Salmon Nakale praised his players for their energy despite expressing concerns about refereeing decisions. “The players had great energy, but we had refereeing issues,” he noted.
Meanwhile, Beauties’ assistant coach Abraham Mwanyeknge praised the team for their resilience, especially in the absence of three key players. “We are happy with the players’ performance. Our aim is to be number one — we don’t want to be behind anyone. We have unity and believe we will win the league,” the assistant coach said.
