Dominique falls for Namibia’s endless beauty

Dominique Mills, better known to her global audience as Dominique Travels, recently fulfilled a lifelong dream with a solo journey to Namibia.

She describes the country as “every landscape you can dream up”.

From the wildlife-rich plains of Etosha National Park to the surreal beauty of Deadvlei, Cape Cross, Mount Etjo and Sandwich Harbour, her adventure captured the soul of the country as diverse as it is breathtaking.

“Welcome to Mars on Earth. Deadvlei had been in my dreams for almost five years. I booked a road trip with Chameleon Safaris. This was the place that I was most excited about,” she posted on her social media platform.

Established in 1995, Chameleon Safaris offers Namibia’s breathtaking landscapes and rich biodiversity.

The safaris span a variety of adventures tailored to meet every traveller’s desires.

Their services include scheduled accommodation and camping safaris, private guided safaris and a range of volunteer and conservation safari options in Namibia.

Deadvlei was a place she had on her vision board since the very beginning – back when she had been dreaming of solo travel but did not quite have the funds.

Her protective dad was also not quite ready to let her go.

Dominique is a Dutch girl with a love for travel and a reluctance to put down roots in only one place.

She said posting her life online was a leap outside her comfort zone.

However, through it, she found a community that supported her, rooted for her and stuck around.

She said: “Find me where the world’s oldest desert meets the ocean. Namibia honestly feels like another planet. Endless golden dunes stretch for miles until, almost impossibly, the ocean crashes right into the sand. It’s surreal, untamed and completely unforgettable… If you visit Namibia, you have to experience Sandwich Harbour in the Namib Desert”.
