This weekend will see a host of pre-season friendly matches as local clubs Young African and African Stars play friendly matches in Okahandja at the Liverpool Stadium.
This will be the final preparation matches before both clubs play in the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup.
African Stars secured their spot in the CAF Champions League by winning the Namibia Premiership (Debmarine Namibia Premiership), the top domestic league, in consecutive seasons (2022/23, 2023/24 and 2024/25).
The 2023/24 league victory officially earned them a spot in the Champions League. For the 2025/26 CAF Champions League season, their 2024/25 domestic victory makes them Namibia’s representative.
Young African earned entry into the CAF Confederation Cup by finishing second in the Namibia Premiership (2024/25 season). According to the list of entrants for the 2025/26 CAF Confederation Cup, the Namibia runners-up Young African are included.
On Saturday, Young African will play Rundu Chiefs FC at 9h30, African Stars versus Bucs Buccaneers FC at 12h30, Bucs Buccaneers FC vs Rundu Chiefs at 14h30, whereas Young African will face African Stars at 16h30.
On Sunday, Rundu Chiefs will face Khomas Nampol at 11h00. Young African Ngarizemo urged supporters to come in numbers and see the newly signed players from these Premier League sides.
“Bring a gazebo and camping chair to enjoy your Saturday with the newly promoted Epangero in the garden town,” he added.
Fees at the gate will be as follows: adults, N$30; children, N$10; and an additional N$10 for vehicles.
