KK Palace leads NPFL log

Round 8 and 9 of the Namibia Premier Football League (NPFL) concluded last weekend across four different towns, with King Kauluma Palace emerging at the top of the league, followed by African Stars with 14 points, and Mighty Gunners dropping from first to third. Tigers, Life Fighters, and Julinho Athletic are currently at the bottom of the league. KK Palace FC currently leads with 16 points after winning both their matches last weekend against Life Fighters 3-0 and 1-0 against Mighty Gunners, who were previously leading. 

Assistant coach of KK Palace, Shafa Kambonde said the team will remain humble and continue working hard to maintain their position.

“It’s a good feeling to be where we are right now. We will continue working hard and keep competing. We want to compete, that’s why we are in this league,” Kambonde said.

In other matches of Round 8, Bucks Buccaneers FC was defeated 0-2 by Young African FC at the Independence Stadium in Windhoek.  At Mokati Stadium in Otjiwarongo, Life Fighters FC was defeated 0-3 by KK Palace FC, while Mighty Gunners FC took on Eeshoke Chula Chula FC. 

Okahandja United FC lost 0-1 to Tigers FC at Nau-Aib Stadium in Okahandja. 

In Windhoek, at the Unam sports stadium, FC Ongos and Rundu Chiefs FC drew 2-2, while Unam FC won 1-0 against Julinho Athletic FC. 

At the Jan Wilken stadium in Walvis Bay, VEN Blue Waters FC drew 2-2 against Khomas Nampol FC, while Eleven Arrows were defeated 0-1 by African Stars FC.

In Round 9, Mighty Gunners lost 0-1 to KK Palace, and Life Fighters defeated Eeshoke Chula Chula 3-1 at Mokati Stadium. Bucks Buccaneers won 2-1 against Tigers at the Independence Stadium in Windhoek, while FC Ongos and Julinho Athletic drew 0-0, and Unam defeated Rundu Chiefs 2-1 at the Unam Stadium. 

Eleven Arrows defeated Khomas Nampol 2-1, and VEN Blue Waters drew 1-1 against African Stars at the Jan Wilken stadium.

The match between Okahandja United and Young African was abandoned at the start of the second half on Sunday due to a physical altercation between the two sides.
