The education ministry will officially release the 2025 October/November Namibia Senior Secondary Certificate Ordinary (NSSCO) and Advanced Subsidiary (AS) national examination results tomorrow.

The NSSCO and AS results for both full-time and part-time candidates will be accessible from 12h15 on the same day via the ministry’s website and Short Message Service (SMS) platforms.

The ministry recently reminded all candidates who wrote the 2025 NSSCO and AS national examinations to keep their candidate numbers readily available when accessing their results.

Regional offices will also provide access to results through printed broadsheets during official working hours.

Last year, this publication reported on the 2024 NSSCO and AS examination results, revealing a slight improvement in the overall pass rate of those who sat in 2024.

The results showed an overall pass rate of 89.3%, marking a 1.1% improvement when compared to the 2023 outcomes.

At the time, then education minister Anna Nghipondoka noted the overall improvement in the learners’ performances in science subjects in 2024, but a decline in performance in languages.

She highlighted the importance of targeted efforts to enhance language skills and achieve better results in the future.

“To improve language proficiency, it is vital to prioritise interactive and immersive learning experiences,” she said at the time.

In 2024, 40 757 full-time candidates registered for the national examination at the Ordinary Level, which represented a 0.2% decrease from the 40 682 candidates registered in 2023.

Furthermore, Rukonga Vision School held first position as the country’s top performer, followed by Onawa Secondary School, and Ruacana Vocational Secondary School.

Regionally, Oshikoto, Kavango West, Omusati, Oshana, and Ohangwena led the charge in 2024.

Hofni Hangula and Edwin Johannes, both from Onawa SS, and Selesite Kanyanye from Gabriel Taapopi SSS, were the best performers at the AS Level, while Jolisa Garises, Tangeniomwene Ingashipua and Trinity /Oxurus from Rukonga Vision School were the best performers at the Ordinary Level.
