26th Top Score 7-aside edition kicks off

Top Score has officially launched the 26th edition of its 7-a-side football tournament, which kicks off today and will be hosted at the Ramblers Club in Windhoek.

The tournament will run every Friday and Saturday over the next five weekends, with matches to be played from 18h00 to 21h00 on Fridays, while Saturday fixtures will take place between 14h00 and 20h00.

The Top Score 7-a-side tournament, which has been running for over two decades has attracted over 70 teams this year and has grown into a household name and a much-loved sporting tradition in Namibia. This year’s edition, however, carries added significance as it is being celebrated under a new Top Score campaign titled ‘Score.’

The campaign is aimed at bringing the iconic ‘Top Score guy’ to life and deepening the brand’s connection with football fans and communities. According to Diego Talaya, Top Score’s brand manager, what sets the Score edition apart is its focus on celebrating the culture that the tournament has helped build over the years. He explained that the tournament is no longer just about competition, but about the shared experiences and sense of unity it continues to create.

“For over two decades, this tournament has become a tradition. A place where colleagues become teammates, rivals become friends and families come together on the sidelines. It has reminded us that football has a unique way of breaking barriers, building camaraderie and creating memories that last far beyond the final whistle,” Talaya said.

He further elaborated that the Top Score 7-a-side tournament enters its 26th chapter with pride, reflecting on where it started, how it has grown and the unity it continues to inspire.

Talaya noted that the tournament has consistently provided a platform for social interaction, entertainment and friendly competition, making it accessible to players and spectators from all walks of life.
