The Namibia national cricket team has had a tough start to its ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 campaign, suffering defeats in all of its Group A matches so far.
After losing to the Netherlands national cricket team on 10 February and to the India national cricket team on 12 February earlier in the group stage, Namibia’s hopes of progressing were dealt another blow when they were beaten by the United States national cricket team on Sunday.
The United States kept its Super 8 qualification hopes alive with a 31-run victory.
The losses mean Namibia likely needs a strong result in its final group match against Pakistan on Wednesday to have any realistic chance of moving forward in the competition.
Namibia is scheduled to play its final Group A match against the Pakistan national cricket team on Wednesday at the Sinhalese Sports Club Ground in Colombo.
This match now looms large for both sides: Pakistan must win to boost its hopes of qualifying for the Super 8 stage after a group defeat to India, while Namibia will be eager to finish on a high note at the marquee event.
