Uncommon sense – Absurdity of modern life

Uncommon sense – Absurdity of modern life

In a world of deception and psychological manipulation, truth is an abomination. Honesty and integrity are only a decorated speech and a brain massage for the masses.

We can all scream and preach about truth and honesty, but the reality if we all woke up one morning and decided to practice this message, the whole man-made system would fall apart. At this point, it has also become as clear as a blue sky that the adage ‘the truth shall set you free’ can be a lie. Of course, this may be true when it is well contextualised, but in a political world, the truth can get you prosecuted, persecuted, or even killed. The world seems to be doing well, with progress seemingly made, but it is fatal to deny that it is also facing a managed decline.

This is also clear in recent years, when all systems began to descend into the lowering of standards across the board. This can be seen especially in professions that require a certain level of inclination and passion, rather than mere survival and profit. This has led to the emergence of substandard service provision and negligence.

At this point, one would think that, based on the progress made in the material world, the psychological and spiritual acumen of humanity would have reached its peak.

However, the opposite is clearly the reality, as the world also silently looks at its own absurdity. With so much time and resources spent on empowerment and promotion of emotional intelligence, all that seems to have been worthless as people have become more emotionally, psychologically and physically fragile.

The picture of today’s male leaves much to be desired compared to the physical posture and physique of yesteryear. Arguably, this can also be attributed to the mental state of our youth and its eventualities. This begs one to believe that the ‘strong body, strong mind’s adage holds more truth than the beer the bottle holds.
No matter the circumstances, society beholds its creation and making. At every turn of the day, every society has the opportunity to either strengthen itself, reflect, or take a complete direction all at once.

As much as this opportunity is necessary, it is even more essential if humanity truly wants to live for many more generations. Commonly, this is a general expectation, just as with every generation, and hence some even had to endure bloody wars and eras just to ascertain the future of the present generation.

Sadly, today’s generation has clearly given up on itself. This is very explicit in the everyday exhibition of what seems more vital to them. Give them alcohol, sexual freedom and entertainment, and their life is complete. However, what one does not realise is that there is nothing new about that unless history has reminded them of just how Rome fell.
