Erongo RED, in collaboration with Green Enterprise Solutions, officially relaunched its corporate website as part of a shared commitment to improving access to information, strengthening stakeholder engagement, and enhancing customer service through modern digital platforms.
The new website builds on the foundation of the company’s previous platform, developed in 2015, which served as an important digital channel over the past decade. In response to evolving technology and changing user expectations, Erongo RED undertook the development of a refreshed, secure, and user-focused platform designed to better meet the needs of its customers, stakeholders, and the broader public.
The platform was developed by Green Enterprise Solutions, a leading Namibian provider of innovative ICT solutions, forming part of Erongo RED’s broader digital transformation journey. The scope of the project includes design, development, and a three-year agreement covering hosting, maintenance, and ongoing support. This strategic partnership ensures that Erongo RED remains agile and adaptable to future technological advancements and evolving customer requirements.
Speaking at the launch, Erongo RED chief executive officer, Immanuel !Hanabeb, emphasised the importance of the initiative: “Our new website is not merely a refreshed digital presence. It is a strategic platform that supports our role in the energy value chain and strengthens how we interact with the various stakeholders and customers we serve.”
“Today’s launch forms part of a broader digital transformation journey already underway at Erongo RED. Over recent years, we have implemented several digital solutions aimed at improving operational efficiency and customer experience.” !Hanabeb further said.
The upgraded platform provides improved access to information on Erongo RED’s services, customer support channels, electricity tariffs, public notices, power interruption updates, vacancies, procurement opportunities, corporate performance, and other important resources. It also provides customers with easy access to download the Erongo RED Mobile App, which enables them to access selected services and information conveniently from their mobile devices. In doing so, it enhances accessibility and supports informed engagement in a sector where clarity and timely information are critical.
The platform further introduces several advanced features aimed at enhancing digital engagement within the sector. Among these is an AI-powered chatbot, designed to provide instant 24/7 assistance and improve customer interaction through automated guidance.
In addition, the integration of interactive e-forms enables users to submit applications and enquiries in real time, reducing manual processes and improving operational efficiency. Green Enterprise Solutions’ head of project management, Bro-Mathew Niikondo, highlighted the collaborative nature of the project: “This project showcases what happens when organisations work collaboratively with experts. Erongo RED’s new web environment delivers secure, innovative, and sustainable digital solutions that better serve its stakeholders and communities,” Niikondo said. The development process incorporated stakeholder engagement sessions, interactive feedback, and rigorous user acceptance testing to ensure the final product aligned closely with business needs and user expectations. Beyond the technology itself, the relaunch reflects Erongo RED’s continued investment in platforms that support efficient service delivery and transparent communication. It also demonstrates the role of local expertise in delivering scalable, sustainable digital solutions that contribute to Namibia’s evolving ICT landscape.
