OTJIWARONGO – Hai//Om traditional leader, chief Dawid //Khamuxab died on Tuesday afternoon at the Outjo District Hospital after a long illness.
His nephew, Leon Aib, confirmed //Khamuxab’s death to Nampa on Wednesday afternoon, saying the 75-year-old chief was the Hai//Om San traditional leader for the areas of Outjo, Oshivelo, Grootfontein, Otjiwarongo, Etosha, Verda, Toevlug, Nuchas, and Kotties government resettlement farms.
“His traditional headquarters were based at Seringkop Government Resettlement Farm, north of Outjo, since his installation and recognition by the government in 2004,” said Aib.
At the time of his death, //Khamuxab served more than 20 000 Hai//Om San under his reign, said Aib.
The late chief leaves behind three daughters and two sons. Funeral arrangements will be officially announced next week.
