Nepotism rife in Zambezi education directorate

Home Letters Nepotism rife in Zambezi education directorate

There are the rampant acts of nepotism, favouritism and corruption in the education directorate in Zambezi.
I would like to urge the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) or the Ministry of Education, Arts and Culture, to thoroughly and expeditiously probe a senior education official in Zambezi and some of his cronies involved in nepotism, favouritism and corruption.

The senior official in question is shamelessly engaging in corrupt practices of the highest order. In essence, what he is doing in the region in terms of the appointment and promotion of education officials, teachers, HoDs, principals and non-teaching personnel is uncalled for and should be exposed.

If nothing is done to salvage the situation this pompous gentleman would ruin our education.

I suggest the said individual should be investigated for corruption on the following matters:
The elevation of teachers to the post(s) of HoDs and principals in the region is done on the basis of ethnicity.
The senior official’s younger brother was employed as a teacher during this trimester at Ngweze Primary School. He is a fourth year student at Unam Katima Mulilo Campus. He is the only student from the said institution, who has been employed so far. What is appalling is the fact the said brother is currently teaching Silozi – a subject he has never done in Grade 12 and Unam.

ACC should investigate why Malengalenga Combined School, Kakiramupepo Primary School, Sangwali Primary School, Sangwali Senior Secondary School, Mbambazi Primary School, Mukorufa Primary School, Sauzuo Combined School and Lyanshulu Primary School are only headed by people from one ethnic group.
