WINDHOEK– If you cannot do it yourself, find a way to make it happen says Vegette van Wyk, an 18-year-old who has donated NS600 to the Megameno Orphanage Home

Van Wyk who is a student at Tucsin donated N$600, cleaning material, cosmetic and food. The money donated will be used to pay electricity and water bills. “They struggle to pay their bills as they don’t have any financial assistance,” says van Wyk.  She has been doing research on different orphanages and decided to donate to Megameno. “I wanted to help so badly but I didn’t have any money so I decided to go from shop to shop in town to find money to donate and I was able to raise little money to help,” she says compassionately.  “I like helping the unfortunate, try making a change and do things that touch people’s hearts. It is my first time to do this and I feel honoured that I helped these children with the little I got and I am glad I put a smile on their faces, that made me happy. I hope to do this again to other orphanages and I am thankful for everyone who helped,” says van Wyk.

“This is a blessing and we really appreciate what van Wyk did. We are struggling and we can use any small donation. What she donates will help and we are thankful,” says Ristos Ashikoto, Manager at Megameno at Erf 7134 in Pruin Street  in Shandumbala. It is currently taking care of 29 children.
