The Africa Institutional Management Services (AIMS), through its AIMS School of Sport (ASOS) department, will host its inaugural graduation ceremony this Friday in Windhoek.
Launched in 2021, ASOS marks a defining chapter in Namibia’s sporting and educational landscape, as it celebrates the first-ever formal graduation of students across multiple sports disciplines under its mandate to professionalise sport through education.
Graduates will receive a Certificate in Sport Education and Practice (Level 3) as well as a Certificate in Football Education and Practice (Level 3), qualifications which aim to equip the next generation of Namibian sports professionals with the knowledge, technical skills and strategic insight required to thrive in the modern sports industry.
ASOS was established to bridge the gap between raw sporting talent and professional competency by offering structured and accredited programmes.
The graduating cohort has completed a comprehensive training programme that extends beyond the fundamentals of sport, preparing them for diverse career opportunities within Namibia and across the broader African sporting landscape.
Speaking ahead of the event, AIMS CEO Aletta Eises described the inaugural graduation as more than just a ceremony.
“This is the first sports graduation in Namibia, and as AIMS, we are proud to be the only VTC offering a sports qualification. We are celebrating resilience, determination, discipline and teamwork,” she said.
Eises added that the graduation represents a milestone in AIMS’ commitment to holistic development, highlighting the importance of nurturing talent alongside strong values.
“In the 21st century, sport is not just an activity, but an essential tool for mental and emotional health and well-being. It is a catalyst for building a healthy and prosperous future,” she said.
The graduates embody AIMS’ vision of developing future generations of sports administrators and professionals who will contribute meaningfully to the growth of sport in Namibia and beyond.
