A gang of three thugs armed with pistols on Sunday morning at 04h00 broke into a house at Hip Court along Visarend Street in Khomasdal and stole cash.

The three broke into the house where they found a couple aged 54 years old asleep and held the two at gunpoint demanding money from them, Inspector Slogan Matheus from the Police Public Relations Division informed journalists on Sunday. The suspects took N$7 800, US$3 950 and KW30 000 in cash. They also took an LG TV flat screen 50 inch valued at N$50 000, an HP laptop valued at N$7 000, and an LG cell phone valued at N$1 500.

In an unrelated incident, on Saturday at 09h00 at Rhode Allee Street, Vineta, Swakopmund, Ernest Heino Ahrens (51) was found dead in his apartment.

Ahrens was reportedly “last seen on Friday, May 8 around 19h00 in good health and did not complain of any illness, only to be found dead in his apartment the next morning”, said Matheus.
