Hi everyone, welcome back to my weekly column Ryan’s Corner.

Last Friday, on this very column, I emphasised and over-amplified the importance of resolving the protracted standoff between the Namibia Football Association (NFA) and the Namibia Premier League (NPL) through dialogue and mutual understanding. 

The fourth round of matches in the MTC HopSol Youth Soccer League will get underway today at the Khomasdal sport fields, with Kaizen Football Academy (KFA) opening the day’s proceedings with a U15 tie against Sport Klub Windhoek (SKW).

The MTC Salute Boxing Academy yesterday announced that it will host a boxing bonanza next month, which will feature some of the country’s top upcoming pugilists.

Among the stars of athletics, he is considered to be a gentleman. A great champion in his own right, both on and off the track, where his kind features, evident class and elegant manner of managing situations (including defeat) make him unique and inimitable – almost a monument.

We are informed that the well documented standoff between the Namibia Football Association (NFA) and the Namibia Premier League (NPL) has its origin in the latter’s disregard of the Fifa Normalisation Committee’s directive not to relegate the three teams that ended at the foot of the country’s topflight football league for the 2018/19 season. 

Just in a space of a few hours after 10 clubs announced they had resigned as members of the expelled Namibia Premier League (NPL) and that they have been provisionally accepted to form part of the envisaged Namibia Football
Association (NFA) top tier league, events took another nasty twist yesterday morning.

The expelled Namibia Premier League (NPL) continues to fire missiles from both ends of the battlefield, as the league at one end is engaged in protracted talks with the Namibia Sports Commission (NSC) over a licence to go fully professional and at the other end, it is busy bolstering its case filed with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (Cas) against the Namibia Football Association (NFA).

The entire Otjiwarongo community and the nation at large are battling in utter shock, devastation and disbelief digesting the sad news about the untimely death of one of the most recognizable figures from that neck of the woods, Joseph Kuhanga, also going by his clan name Kaseehunde “Seadog”.
