WINDHOEK – Windhoek City Police services staff visited the bereaved family of late Cheryl Avihe Ujaha, 9, at their family home on Friday morning and extended their sympathy to the family.
In consoling the family, the officers sang spiritual songs and donated N$3 820 which they collected among themselves. City Police Senior Superintendent Gerry Shikesho said as the nation ponders on the tragedy, the nation must develop intolerance for criminal behaviours and those committing crime must not be able to find comfort or protection among friends and family.
“Perpetrators of crime particularly of this nature need to receive full wrath of the law,” Shikesho remarked.
Ujaha’s grandfather, Seth Kaimu got emotional as staff members mentioned Avihe’s name.
“I say thank you for everything. I will express myself later when I bury my child to the whole Namibia. Thank you very much, may God bless you,” said Kaimu.
