Bravery Kabula

Robberies were the most frequently reported crimes in the Namibian Police’s weekend incident report covering 6 to 8 March 2026. Police also recorded suicides, rape cases, drug-related offences, stock theft, housebreaking and inquests across several regions.

In Cimbebasia, Windhoek, a 19-year-old man was robbed of a cell phone and backpack valued at about N$2 500 while walking to work. Three suspects allegedly threatened him with a pistol, knife and a plank.

In Katutura, under the Lafrenz bridge, a taxi driver was robbed of N$1 800 and his white Mazda Demio after two suspects allegedly entered the taxi and threatened him with a firearm. The vehicle was later recovered.

In Windhoek West, suspects allegedly threatened a victim and his family with firearms and knives before stealing a cell phone.

Another robbery occurred at Pioneerspark, where four suspects allegedly threatened a victim with a firearm, pangas and a knife before stealing his cellphone, cash and a cap.

In Okahao, a suspect allegedly grabbed a woman by the arms and forcefully took her cellphone, valued at N$5 999.

In Rehoboth’s Bergershoek area, suspects allegedly forced open a house door, threatened the occupant with a panga and stole N$400 in cash, a cell phone and sneakers.

Another robbery with aggravating circumstances was reported behind Prosperita in Windhoek, where four suspects allegedly pointed a firearm at a victim, assaulted him and robbed him of his belongings.

Suicides

In Wanaheda, Windhoek, the body of 32-year-old Donavan Kaiko was discovered hanging from a rope inside his shack along Eneas Peter Nanyemba Road.

At Omangundu village in the Onankali area, the decomposed body of 31-year-old Paulus Amutenya Johannes was found inside his room with a rope around his neck.

In the Omuthiya area, the body of 35-year-old Frans Shiimbi was discovered hanging from a tree at Akoonde village.

Another suicide was reported at Omafufu village in Okankolo, where a 39-year-old Angolan national allegedly hanged himself from a tree.

Drug-related crimes

A 43-year-old man was arrested in Aus after police allegedly found him in possession of mandrax tablets and cash suspected to be proceeds from drug dealing.

In Kavango West, a 22-year-old suspect was arrested at Karanawa village near Nkurenkuru after being found with bankies of cannabis.

In Rundu, another suspect was arrested for attempting to smuggle cannabis, cigarettes and a cell phone through the charge office counter at the police station.

Stock theft

In Karasburg, a 34-year-old farm worker was arrested after allegedly stealing and slaughtering a sheep valued at N$1 690.

In Opuwo, suspects allegedly stole three goats from a grazing area. The animals were valued at about N$2 300.

At farm Swartkoppies near Dordabis, suspects allegedly stole and slaughtered two donkeys valued at N$15 000. Three suspects were arrested.

Rape

A 34-year-old man was arrested at Emono village in the Onayena area after he allegedly raped his 16-year-old daughter.

In Otjiwarongo’s DRC location, a 24-year-old woman was allegedly grabbed by a known suspect while walking home from a bar and raped.

Housebreaking and theft

In Ongwediva, suspects broke into a house and stole jewellery, clothing and a cell phone valued at N$71 700.

In Dorado Park, Windhoek, burglars allegedly cut burglar bars and stole electronic devices valued at N$75 540.

A white Toyota Hilux valued at N$700 000 was also reported stolen from Farmhouse Deli Accommodation in Tsumeb.

Inquests

In Rundu, a 62-year-old woman identified as Anna Maria Kanzara drowned in the Kavango River after she went fishing and failed to return.

At Nkurenkuru, the remains of 30-year-old Olavi Dcakawo were discovered by family members after he had been missing since February.

Accident

In Okankolo, a 38-year-old man identified as Mbenge Klian died after the vehicle he was driving hit cattle, overturned and rolled several times along the D3603 road. – –mathebravery@gmail.com
