Dokkies Schmidt Football Academy (DSFA) received a generous donation of two brand new football kits for the 2025/2026 season from Namibia Construction on Friday.
This marks an important milestone for the growing academy.
DSFA currently competes in the Khomas Second Division following a recent promotion from the Third Division.
This step reflects the academy’s steady progress and commitment to developing young football talent.
The donation comes at a crucial time as the team prepares for the demands of a new and more competitive season.
Speaking at the handover, Namibia Construction’s Contracts manager Sylvester Beukes reaffirmed the company’s commitment to uplifting communities through sport.
He emphasised that football plays a vital role in society, particularly in bringing young people together and teaching them discipline, teamwork and responsibility.
“This is not only about handing over playing kits, but also about reaffirming what we believe in, uplifting communities, investing in young people and contributing to a future filled with opportunity,” Beukes said.
He added that Namibia Construction strongly believes that supporting youth development initiatives strengthens society’s foundation, as young people are given positive platforms to grow both on and off the field.
Dokkies Schmidt, technical director and co-founder of DSFA, expressed gratitude to Namibia Construction, noting that the sponsorship brings the academy one step closer to achieving its long-term development goals.
“This sponsorship will help the boys with confidence and enable the academy to start reaching the goals we have set. We look forward to attracting more sponsorships like this. We hope to build a long-term relationship with Namibia Construction.” Schmidt said.
The donation is expected to boost team morale and motivation as DSFA continues its journey in competitive football while also highlighting the importance of corporate support in grassroots sports development.
