Exciting conclusion to the netball league this weekend

The MTC Namibia Netball Premier League is set to reach its thrilling conclusion this weekend.

Eliana Seibes, the league coordinator, anticipates some unpredictable twists in the final round of matches.

The climactic finale will take place at the Paresis Netball Courts in Otjiwarongo, kicking off on Saturday and running through to Sunday.

As it stands, the Namibia Correctional Service (NCS) leads the league with a total of 38 points from 20 matches played.

They are closely pursued by their biggest rivals, the Namibian Navy, who have accumulated 36 points over the same number of games.

The Mighty Gunners currently hold third place, having secured 29 points from their 20 matches.

Seibes expressed her excitement about the final rounds, highlighting the intense matchups that are expected.

“We’ve faced several challenges this season, but through determination and teamwork, we’ve managed to overcome them,” she said.

“As teams vie for their seasonal goals and with the shooters striving for their personal bests, this final round promises to deliver unpredictable twists, making for an exhilarating conclusion,” she acclaimed.

Reflecting on the season, she noted: “This year has been filled with excitement, hard work and anticipation, setting the stage for a memorable final round that fans won’t want to miss. It’s sure to be a nail-biter”.

In addition to the team competition, the race for the top shooter adds another layer of excitement.

Anna Kasper of the Navy currently leads the scoring charts, boasting an impressive 654 goals from 729 attempts.

In second place is Loide Kanyola of Afrocat Lions, with 534 goals from 685 attempts.

Close behind, Illyn Pura from NCS also has 534 goals ,but has achieved this from 648 attempts.

The winners of the league will walk away with N$180 000, the runners-up will bag N$120000, and third-place holders will take home N$60 000.

Fourth place will take home N$40 000.
