FNB Insurance has killed two birds with one stone by supporting a local business and promoting road safety at the same time. This is because the insurance arm of FNB has launched a partnership with LEFA Transportation Services Namibia.
This is aimed at promoting responsible driving and enhancing road safety in Namibia. The agreement is designed to reduce road-related incidents, and will see FNB Insurance clients receive two LEFA voucher codes valid for two trips every two months for use in Windhoek and its surrounding areas.
The partnership was announced by FNB Insurance chief executive officer Georg Garrels, who emphasised the significance of the collaboration. “This partnership has been a long time coming. It’s about extending value to clients while making our roads safer, and what better way than to partner with a trusted local SME.”
Melkisedek Ausiku, founder of LEFA Transportation Services, expressed his gratitude to FNB Insurance for the opportunity. “Your faith in local SMEs and entrepreneurs speaks volumes. I’d like to encourage more corporates to support and partner with more SMEs, as there are many out there doing great things,” he said.
Ileni Shithigona, FNB Insurance marketing manager, highlighted the broader purpose of the partnership. “This is more than just adding value for our clients. It’s about doing our part to keep all Namibians safe on our roads.”
Garrels stated: “Namibians are social people, however, with that comes the responsibility of keeping our people and roads safe. This is where the LEFA partnership truly comes into play”.
Customers residing outside the capital are, however, encouraged to redeem when visiting the city.
Founded in 2018, LEFA is an urban mobility company in Windhoek which facilitates passenger transportation through the LEFA app, making passenger transportation safe, reliable, efficient and convenient. The name LEFA was derived from the Oshiwambo word lefa, which translates to the action of asking for a ‘lift’ or ‘ride’.
