WINDHOEK – The Ofarama Sport Club will host a soccer and netball tournament this weekend, starting tomorrow at the Khomasdal Stadium in Windhoek.
The winning teams from the tournament will be presented with trophies and medals sponsored by the German Embassy. The Ofarama Sport Club was founded in 1987 in the Otjombinde communal area of the Omaheke Region. The clubs plays an important role in promoting different sports codes and providing youngsters with an opportunity to practice sporting activities, not only in the Omaheke Region, but throughout the country.
The club also promotes the non-tolerance of crime, alcohol and drug abuse among young people through the hosting of various tournaments. Additionally, the club organises training workshops and also boasts a debating society, which focuses on environmental issues.
