Gurirab gears up for new chapter at Scottland FC

Namibian international forward Isaskar Gurirab has begun pre-season preparations with his new club, Scottland FC, as he embarks on an exciting new chapter in his professional career in Zimbabwe.

Gurirab recently completed a move to the reigning Zimbabwean champions from Simba Bhora FC for an undisclosed fee, a transfer expected to significantly bolster Scotland FC’s attacking options ahead of the 2026 season.

The move comes on the back of an impressive campaign at Simba Bhora, where the Namibian striker netted eight goals and registered two assists, playing a key role in his former club’s attacking setup.

Speaking from Zimbabwe, Gurirab described his time in the country so far as both eye-opening and enriching, highlighting the differences in football quality and culture.

“My stay in Zimbabwe has been an eye-opener and a great experience. Seeing the difference in the quality of football and experiencing different cultures has been very positive for me, and I am glad to be here,” Gurirab said.

The forward is clear about his ambitions for the upcoming season, setting his sights on improving his personal statistics while contributing meaningfully to the club’s objectives.

“My goal for this season is to do better than last season, improve my stats, and help the team achieve the objectives we have set. At the moment, the focus is mainly on fitness and getting into shape during pre-season,” he said.

Gurirab added that his full integration into the team will depend on the coaching staff’s technical plans, which are yet to be fully outlined. However, he expressed satisfaction with the environment at the club and the reception he has received from his new teammates.

“Fitting into the team is really about the coach and his plan, which we haven’t gone into in detail yet,” he explained.

“But the guys have been very professional and have welcomed me well, which has made the transition easier,” he added.

With pre-season underway and expectations high at Scottland FC following their title-winning campaign, Gurirab will be eager to hit the ground running and establish himself as a key figure in the champions’ quest to defend their crown in the 2026 season.
