Netball Namibia (NN) says the 2023 MTC Namibia Netball Premier League (NNPL) playoffs are set to take place in Windhoek on 25 November 2023.
In a media statement made available to New Era Sport yesterday, NN said this event marks a crucial moment in the netball calendar as teams vie for a coveted slot in the 2024 MTC NNPL season.
Among the teams vying for the top spot will be Ogongo Unam and Blue Waters, who were relegated in the first season of the MTC NNPL.
“Everything is set for the playoffs; the teams that will participate are known. We are looking forward to entertaining and competitive matches,” Isack Hamata, the acting SG for NN, told this publication yesterday.
The teams that are participating in the playoffs were chosen based on having won their respective regional leagues.
These teams are Unam Jaguars (Khomas), United 12 NC (//Kharas), Harambee NC (Hardap), Okahandja NC (Otjozondjupa), Blue Waters NC (Erongo), Ministry of Safety and Security (Omaheke), Tsumeb A NC (Oshikoto), Eastern Chiefs NC (Kavango East), Ogongo Unam NC (Omusati), and Extreme NC (Oshana).
Ohangwena, Zambezi, Kavango West, and Kunene currently do not have active leagues; hence, they will not be part of the playoffs.
The match venues in Windhoek are yet to be decided.
Four of these teams will be promoted to the MTC NNPL at the end of the playoffs on 25 November.
