NFA, FlyNamibia sign partnership

The Namibia Football Association (NFA) and local airline FlyNamibia have signed an agreement that will now see the airline becoming the NFA’s official partner whenever national teams are travelling for international duties.

The partnership was unveiled at the Eros Airport this week prior to the men’s U/23 team’s departure to Angola, where they competed yesterday in the U/23 Afcon qualifiers, which will take place in Morocco next year.

The NFA’s Normalisation Committee chairman Bisey Uirab said the association is grateful to have partnered with the local airline.

“The NFA is grateful to FlyNamibia for embracing the partnership at the time when air travel costs are a high-cost driver for the NFA, especially to honour international commitments for the national teams,” he said.

Meanwhile, Andre Compion, FlyNamibia’s managing director, was thrilled with the NFA/FlyNamibia partnership, saying such partnerships are of great importance as they encourage growth and development.

“For the next year, FlyNamibia will be the official air travel partner of the NFA and we are incredibly proud to be the bearer of this designation.

It is our mandate and mission at FlyNamibia to support our country and its people as far as we are able, whether it be by connecting our customers to their homes, families, businesses, or travel destinations, or by connecting the world to Namibia and Namibia to the world,” said Compion.

“We hope to support the collective endeavours of this new relationship which will help further Namibia’s football aspirations and bring about even more prosperity to a sport we all enjoy and vehemently support. Football is the world’s game as they say, and we are proud to be the official air travel partner tasked with helping our Namibian footballers reach the world.”
