Nuusiku ventures into real estate

Wilhelmina Iimene

We love a focused and business-minded queen, and Nuusiku Eliakim has been giving us all the right reasons to look up to her when it comes to running successful businesses.

Speaking of multiple streams of income, she has got that on lock.

The 23-year-old fourth-year dental student at the University of Namibia School of Dentistry started her first business in 2018 by selling Avon beauty products. In 2020, Eliakim dabbled a little in selling hair bundles, perfume and beard products for men. During the weekends, she makes use of her cooking hobby to generate extra income by cooking and selling food.

Eliakim is currently also pursuing her passion for real estate. This is something, she said, that has always lingered at the back of her mind, and she just knew that she had to pursue it.

“Real estate has been something I have thought of while I was still in high school. I always told myself I would get my licence and invest in properties,” she told Youth Corner.

Eliakim works at Unicorn properties, representing buyers or sellers of properties. She helps people find affordable homes by providing detailed information and helping them navigate the home-buying and selling process. She also provides services like staging houses and preparing marketing materials.

The motive behind her hustles is because she strives for financial freedom, she said.

“Freedom to have control over my life, to be my own boss, to help the community and motivate young entrepreneurs pursuing anything that sets their hearts on fire.”

By the look of things, she is living her dream, but as easy as she makes it seem, Eliakim noted that it is actually not simple.

With her fair share of challenges in different markets, she said it is important to analyse and find the right target market for a business idea for it to flourish and come to fruition.

Her advice to those who want to take up space in the business industry, irrespective of what business they want to pursue is: “The market is never too crowded to enter it. No matter how many people are already in it, try to be the odd one out and do things differently, as that is how people notice new ventures”.

The future dentist advises fellow students running side hustles to take care of the body that makes the money to avoid burnout.

If you are looking to buy hair, cologne or own a property, Eliakim is the go-to girl, and she can be contacted on 0816486518 or @Nuusiku_ on Twitter. – imenewilly@gmail.com
