Home Youth Corner Onayena Youth Forum to host lecture

WINDHOEK

The Onayena Constituency Youth Forum is organising a public youth lecture under the theme, Youth Empowerment. Youth from the constituency and surrounding areas are invited to attend the historic youth public lecture.

The public lecture is scheduled for Friday, May 27 from 09h00 at the Onayena Constituency Council office.

The aim of the lecture is not only to bring youth together in numbers but to also create a platform for information sharing and for them to learn from one another about how they can help one another in the fight against unemployment and poverty.

Youth in the area believe they should help the government help them, instead of waiting for the government to create jobs for them. “It should become the responsibility of the youth to find mechanisms to help the government to provide youth with work and all sorts of the projects that will be of useful and productive in our community,” says Martin- Olembe Antindi, chairperson of Onayena Constituency Youth Forum.

The Youth Forum executive has invited Wellem Amutenya, an inspriring youth from the local community, as the main speaker. Onayena Constituency Councillor Iiyambo Natangwe Indongo is also on the list of speakers from the community.

The Onayena Youth Forum is part of the Oshikoto Regional Youth Forum and is one of the most active youth organisations in Oshikoto Region advancing the interests of the youth. not only in Onayena Constituency but also within Oshikoto region at large.

Onayena Youth Forum completed its first successful youth expo last year as part of its activities.
