After 16 years of making music focused on lifestyle, money, women and vibes with his PDK partners, Patrick Mwashindange decided to introduce a new version of himself with music that would have people listen to it on repeat and connect with.
It took him seven months, and now he is ready to officially launch ‘Patrick Sikiliza’ this Friday at the Brewer’s Market.
Mwashindange said he made the album with the hope it touches people’s hearts in order to medicate the social issues being faced in the country.
“I hope this album goes as far as it can so that it does what it’s meant to do for society. All I needed was that the message of Christ comes out, and it found a way to sit in perfectly in each of the songs,” he stated.
He told VIBEZ! the album is meant to inspire, relate and encourage people to feel with him.
The album talks about his personal experiences, what he has seen around society, political issues, and his personal take on it.
It consists of 18 tracks, one being an acoustic version of ‘Ouhamba womohombo’, and two versions of ‘Inodimbwange’, with one on a different beat for the older people to connect to.
“This song is one of my favourites because it was written by my wife a few years ago,” he said excitedly.
Track one, ‘Victory’, talks about his victory which was guided by his spiritual side, and is said to be another favourite.
He will perform all of his songs at the launch, joined by some of the artists featured on the album such as his mate of PDK – Dion ‘Diyon’ Auala on the song titled ‘Ila’.
Christian ‘Kamtonyo’ Andreas is the third member of PDK.
Top Cheri, Tate Buti, Ethnix, S.Vida and Ms-Rou will also be in action.
The launch will be accompanied by an ‘Arts-Travaganza’ and include an art exhibition, a Spoken Word session and stand-up comedy.
Early bird tickets are N$150, while at the door it will cost N$200. With a CD, it will be N$350.
Tickets are available at Antonio’s Art in Windhoek or at the venue itself.
