Police constables arrested for robbery

Home National Police constables arrested for robbery

Two police constables have been arrested in connection with the robbery at Chinese shop in Windhoek on Tuesday this week. According to Inspector Slogan Matheus from the Police Public Relations Division the two constables, aged 33 years and 30 years, would appear in the Katutura Magistrate Court tomorrow [Thursday]. Matheus says on Tuesday five police officers in a marked Police vehicle arrived at Olyeta Shopping Complex in Katutura, where they presented the owner of a Chinese shop with a fake search warrant saying they are investigating a case of dealing in drugs. They ‘seized’ cash amounting to N$3,600 from the shop’s storeroom and cash register, as well as two cellphones and computer memory box for the CCTV camera. Two of the police officers were arrested the same day, while the other three are still at large and the police investigation continues.
