Alleged dog eater stabbed to death

ONESI – A 25-year-old man was stabbed to death after being accused by a friend of allegedly eating villagers’ dogs.

The incident happened on Sunday evening around 20h45 at a cucashop in Oshikondailongo village in the Omusati region. The victim has been identified as Kandele Shinendima Mbambi, an Angolan national, employed as a domestic worker.

According to the police, it is alleged the fight erupted when the suspect accused Mbambi of eating people’s dogs in the village.

They were pushed out of the cucashop by those present.

It is further alleged that the suspect used an Okapi knife to stab Mbambi once on the left upper chest, and he sustained a deep open wound.

Mbambi walked some 50 metres away from the cucashop and later died behind the cucashop. The body was transported to the Okahao police mortuary for a post-mortem to be conducted as investigations continue.

The suspect is a 21-year-old man and was arrested the same day he committed the crime. He is due to appear in the magistrate court on Tuesday to be charged with murder. – fhmalwa@nepc.com.na
