Jittah growing behind the mic

Jittah Daniel from Tsumeb recently released his third album titled ‘Evolved Genuis’ – a combination of Afro-pop, Kwaito and Amapiano sounds.

“I named the album ‘Evolved Genuis’ because I have grown musically in terms of the sound and quality of my music. I also had a realisation of being a versatile musician who is not boxed in one specific genre, which is a blessing,” he told VIBEZ!

Daniel said the album talks about his personal life with God and his love life as well as his fans, and embracing the street life.

“It also stretches to the vibe in the ‘Kasie’, and at the same time appreciating my fans for the support since day one.”

The album consists of five songs plus an intro and outro.

Daniel noted that the album is already getting a positive response from the public.

On this project, he did not feature anyone because he wanted to give his fans “100% of the whole me without limitations for them to experience Jittah in a full 360 mode”.

The album was recorded at his house with producer Sean Blizzy, and it took him a month to finalise.

“I have positive music. I’m all about good vibes; I don’t like singing about problems. Instead, I sing about solutions, and cheer my fans to go out there and make life meaningful,” Daniel added.

He aspires to change people’s lives with his music, and gave thanks to God, coming from a place of no record deal or sponsorship.

On his musical journey thus far, he said: “Music in Namibia is not a joke and as easy as people think. It requires a lot of hard work, determination and discipline.”

Daniel observed that financing has been a big problem, coupled with a lack of support from recording studios.

“My vision is to see myself going global and changing the narrative of Namibian music that only ends in Africa, and to create a platform for the next artist who will follow in my footsteps, as well as create a music university in the future.”

To his fellow Namibian youth, he said: “You only have one life to live. Invest your time and energy in the talent you have, and become the best in your craft. Seek your purpose, and use it to help other people. Afterall, we are not here to live forever. Use your given time to help others for your reward is greater, and stay positive at all times.”
