Netball play-offs this weekend

With six regions already done conducting their regional playoffs, Netball Namibia (NN) has decided to stage their national play-offs this coming weekend, where the remaining four teams that will join the MTC Netball Premier League will be selected.

The newly-formed MTC Netball Premier League will consist of 12 teams, including eight teams that have been already selected from netball active regions such as Khomas, Otjozondjupa, Kavango East and Erongo region, while the four remaining places are up for grabs and will be confirmed on Sunday through the national playoffs.

NN vicepresident Rebecca Goagoses recently confirmed that the national playoffs will be staged this weekend. She said eight regions Hardap, Oshana, Omusasti, Ohangwena, Omaheke, Kunene, Oshikoto and //Karas have already concluded with their regional playoffs and ready to send teams to the national playoffs.

The play offs will be played on the round robin basis and the winner and runner up of each zone will then qualify to be part of the MTC Namibian Netball Premier League, which is set to start the weekend of 30 April and 01 May 2021 in Windhoek.

NN last year received a three-year sponsorship worth 4.2 million from MTC to assist with the establishment of a premier netball league and the development of netball countrywide.
