RUNDU – The Namibian Police in Rundu were called to a gruesome crime scene at Gove village some 31 km east of Rundu along the Rundu-Divundu gravel road that runs parallel to the Kavango River where a man had just been killed with a sharp unidentified object in the early hours of Thursday.

The crime in which yet another life was cut short took place at 03h00.
It was reported to the police that the deceased bled to death after he was stabbed following a heated argument with the suspect that led to a fight which then resulted in the suspect stabbing the now deceased and immediately fleeing the scene.

“Alcohol was involved. After a fight the suspect allegedly stabbed the deceased. The deceased was later discovered dead by community members early in the morning and they alerted the police,” confirmed Kavango East crime investigations coordinator, Deputy Commissioner Bonifatius Kanyetu.

“A case of murder was opened against the suspect – Rundu cr149/08/2018 Murder – on Thursday the 16th of August 2018. The deceased was identified as Thomas Ntjamba Muterembe, 31 years old and the suspect is 34 years old and is currently in police custody as he was arrested this morning and is due for court,” Kanyetu said last Thursday.

According to Kanyetu both the suspect, whose name is withheld as he has yet to appear in court, and the victim are Namibians from Gove village.
