A man was burned to ashes at the southern town of Rosh Pinah after the shack he was sleeping in caught fire in the wee hours of Sunday.

According to reports the deceased was sleeping in his shack made of corrugated zinc sheets when it caught fire which burnt him beyond recognition.

The incident is said to have happened at about 02h00 on Sunday and the cause of the fire is not yet known.

The man has been identified as 34-year-old Abraham Lisias and his next of kin have been informed. Police investigations into the incident continue.
