‘The Girl’s Corner’ will officially be launched on Valentine’s Day, the day of love. This all-female social experience was created by women, for women, with the intention of reimagining what a night out can feel like.
Rather than the usual loud, chaotic nightlife, the concept focuses on safety, emotional ease, and genuine connection. “We have reimagined the evening out by stripping away the noise and focusing on what matters, safety and sisterhood,” said co-founder Rauna Fudheni. The experience is designed to allow women to relax fully and be able to enjoy themselves without the pressure of being watched, evaluated, or interrupted.
The idea was born from a simple realisation that occurred after co-hosting a picnic with a friend. Rauna found herself wishing for greater control over the atmosphere, especially through music, particularly lyrics that evoked calm, joy, and unity. “We understood the specific, calm atmosphere we wanted to feel. I started imagining an event that felt exactly like those words, but why not for women only?” she said. After sharing the idea with friends, Wa-eeda Efraim helped shape the vision further and ultimately named it ‘The Girl’s Corner.’
The ladies say the timing of the launch feels intentional, the ladies hope the launching officially on Valentine’s Day, reminds women that they are valued. “There is no better way to launch an all-women’s experience than by reminding women that they are loved, seen, and cared for,” said Fudheni.
She added that there is a growing shift away from chaotic nightlife toward experiences rooted in wellbeing and authenticity. “Too often, a night out means staying alert instead of relaxed,” she said. ‘The Girl’s Corner’ was created to remove that burden and allow women to be present and free.
‘The Girl’s Corner’ fills a noticeable gap between traditional nightlife and intimate gatherings at home. “Most events today are volume-driven and DJ-centred,” Efraim said.
What stands out about their experiment is that they are offering a curated, out-of-home experience. ‘The Girl’s Corner’ creates a communal space that feels just as safe as a living room.
With a long-term vision in mind, the ladies plan to include recurring themed events and expansion beyond the launch city, with plans already underway to acquire a place in Oshakati already underway.
Safety and sisterhood were topics they highly emphasised on, a non-negotiable value they have kept from the beginning. “Safety isn’t just physical, it’s emotional. There is no pressure to impress and no hierarchy of who belongs,” Fudheni said.
The space is intentionally designed around how women feel, not how they are perceived.
