Tjozongoro: A united Swapo will go far

Tjozongoro: A united Swapo will go far

Zebaldt Ngaruka

EPUKIRO – Following his re-election as Swapo district coordinator for the Epukiro constituency, Lucky Tjozongoro said unity within ruling party members will bring victory in this year’s November Presidential and National Assembly elections

The ruling party recently held its renewals of mandate, where Tjozongoro retained the top party seat in the Epukiro district.

He told New Era that he would advocate for unity, peace and hard work to save party from division among its members. The publication is reliably informed that the party members exchanged blows in addition to harsh words in some sections and branches during the renewal of the mandate election process.

“It is time to put differences away, and work for the good of our party. I strongly believe that the newly-elected district executive committee members, more importantly, will help to foster unity in the name of the mighty Swapo Party,” said the district coordinator.

Tjozongoro added that Swapo will commit itself to more dedication than ever before to maximise its goals to address issues affecting the people.

“We will continue looking at the socio-economic development of our people. Amongst others, we will tackle the issue of youth and women’s empowerment,” he added. He noted that the drought issue, which affects many in the constituency and the region at large, will be on the party’s radar. Different branches also elected their leadership, where the Okauketemba branch chose Gebhard Uahavi Kauami as its coordinator, while Ngunao Munamava scooped the mobiliser portfolio.

Meanwhile, Katieua Kaputuaza took the coordinator portfolio of the Ombujorujezu branch, and will be assisted by Patricia Kavaka as a mobiliser.

The Omarombora branch will be under the leadership of Kiss Mbangura, who was elected as coordinator, while Densia Pakarae will be responsible for mobilising the party’s affairs in the branch.

Ileni Henguva and Kamuzerua Tjiuongua will now lead the Katusha
branch after they were voted as coordinator and mobiliser, respectively.

The Independence branch will be headed by Frieda Kamuhenune as coordinator, and the mobilisation role is under Erastus Hengombe. Hugo Kandovazu is the new coordinator for the Nguvauva branch, and Adelheid Kaukuata will be responsible for the party’s mobilisation role in the branch.

Amalia Uanivi Katjirua and Godfried Hoveka were respectively voted as coordinator and mobiliser of the Ngaruka branch, while the Okombomi branch is in the hands of Esegiel Rirua Hange, who was elected as coordinator, and Ebeline Tjitaura as mobiliser.

Furthermore, the Otjinoko branch will be headed by Immanuel Kao, with Veripura Hoveka as a mobiliser, while the Okauakuni branch will be under the care of Stanley Tikaa Murangi.

Meanwhile, Gloria Tjizera will head a mobilisation role in the Okauakuni branch, while the Cassinga branch did not hold its renewals of mandate due to unforeseen circumstances.

Tjozongoro said the district executive committee will attend to the matter soon.
