Young African head coach Maleagi Ngarizemo said his team have awaken from recent poor form and is ready to face champions African Stars FC and Khomas Nampol FC in Gobabis this weekend.

The Gobabis-based outfit collected four points from previous outings against FC Ongos, where they drew one-all and stunned Unam FC 2-1 on Monday in the capital.

This weekend, the team affectionately known as Yangile will face African Stars FC on Saturday at 16h00 at their famous Legare Stadium in Gobabis.

It will close off the weekend with another on-form team, Khomas Nampol FC, on Sunday at 15h00 at the same venue.

Ngarizemo said it’s not going to be easy games considering the previous encounters against the opponents.

“This is football, we have awakened from the last results that we lost to them. The boys are motivated already with the four points we got during this week, and that, in fact, is a good boost for us,” said the coach.

He added that all players are well and injury free, and they are looking forward to hosting them in their home ground.

“Our prime aim is to get maximum points this weekend. The league is tough every day, and we will fight for every point,” said Ngarizemo.

On his part, Maphuti Maphota, the team captain, said the encounter against African Stars FC is a derby, and the players’ spirit is high.

“We are prepared, and the spirit in the camp is positive from the Monday win against UNAM FC. This is our home game, and we must make our supporters happy,” he said.

Maphota added that the team is fighting in every game and wants to collect as many points as possible.

He further called on the supporters to come in numbers and let their presence be felt.

“We appreciate your part in this team, and let’s fill up our home ground to capacity for the best of our team. We aim for victory, and nothing less than that,” said the captain.
