KEETMANSHOOP – With plans of gaining promotion to the country’s topflight football league, the MTC Namibia Premier League (NPL), in the near future, Keetmanshoop-based outfit Try Again Football Club’s efforts were recently boosted by a N$56 000 sponsorship from JT Civil Technology CC.
Currently sitting second on the Southern Stream First Division log table, Try Again aims to finish first come end of the season, and hopefully mingle with the big guns in the country’s premiership next season.
At the handover ceremony in Keetmanshoop last Thursday, club officials encouraged the players and technical staff to work hard and go beyond their limits in order to take the //Kharas Region to the premiership next season.
The team’s treasurer, Gert Cloete, thanked the sponsors for the timely sponsorship and called on the players to do their part on the field of play.
He also explained that the team tries its best to give something back to the players to take home because 65 percent of their players are either school-going or unemployed. “We can train them and do our best with the players but if you don’t give them a little financial incentive they will end up going to the streets,” he said.
