FlyNamibia ambassador 2023 Taimi Nuunyango is eager to make a significant impact on both local and international tourism by sharing her experiences with a wide audience through various digital platforms.
The social work student from the village of Okahao in the Omusati region was recently unveiled as the second-ever ambassador for FlyNamibia airline and her roles include telling Namibian stories by travelling to many destinations, mingling with locals, and uncovering the hidden gems scattered across Namibia.
She emerged top amongst hundreds of entries.
Nuunyango’s unwavering passion for exploration, her vibrant personality and genuine authenticity made her an ideal fit for this prestigious role.
She is expected to contribute significantly to the growth of the local tourism industry. By harnessing the power of digital platforms, Nuunyango will effectively showcase the allure of Namibia, encouraging visitors to embark on their own unforgettable adventures.
The 24-year-old told VIBEZ! Namibia holds a special place in her heart because of its breathtaking landscapes, diverse wildlife and cultural heritage. Discovering every facet of her homeland over the past three years has thus fostered a deep sense of pride in Namibia.
“As the FlyNamibia ambassador, I have set several goals. These goals encompass promoting FlyNamibia’s brand image, highlighting the airline’s unique offerings, encouraging tourism to Namibia, and advocating for sustainable and responsible travel practices. By emphasising the importance of environmental consciousness in travel and showcasing FlyNamibia’s commitment to sustainability, I aim to contribute to a greener and more responsible travel industry,” she enthused.
Nuunyango added that her primary focus will be creating content on digital platforms by actively engaging with the online community, thereby forging a strong connection between FlyNamibia and travellers worldwide.
Among the destinations and routes of FlyNamibia, she is particularly excited to promote the route to Katima Mulilo, and the newly-added route to the historic coastal town of Lüderitz.
“Despite this part of the country being underrated, it boasts some rich cultural experiences, a large population of wildlife and is home to the great Zambezi River. The lush city of Katima Mulilo offers a great variety of visitor accommodation options, and the evident history of the rich culture surrounding it makes for great activities and attractions for tourists to immerse themselves in,” she noted.
In Lüderitz, Nuunyango will be documenting her extraordinary experiences on social media, providing an opportunity for her followers to join her virtually.
