Swanu president Evilastus Kaaronda has urged party supporters to vote for them so that they can tackle unemployment issues by establishing a financial institution. He was speaking during their star rally on Saturday at John ya Otto Nankudhu stadium in Windhoek.
“Unemployment for the past 34 years has continued to be a stubborn double-digit phenomenon in this count r y. It hovers around 40% generally and around 61% among the youth,” Kaaronda stated. He said job-creation will be achieved by establishing a youth development bank.
“The development of this financial system will not only encourage employment-creation, but also finance employment-creation. You cannot create jobs without industries, and you cannot finance the creation of industries through the tax system. Therefore, you must create a reliable, solid financial institution which will finance such initiatives,” the politician continued.
SWANU’s youth spokesperson Michael Mandume said the party has a clear and actionable plan to create job opportunities for the youth. “We believe in investing in industries which drive employment, such as technology, agriculture, manufacturing and entrepreneurship,” he noted. -Nampa
