The Youth Orchestra Festival lit up the National Theatre of Namibia on 20 and 21 June 2025, drawing young talent across the country. The event offered budding musicians a chance to refine their skills and showcase their passion. The programme featured timeless pieces like Andrew J. Smith’s ‘In the Hall of the Mountain King’ and Aaron Copland, and lain Farrington: Hoedown from ‘rodeo’ lead by Christian Ludwig a renown German conductor. They also showcased the debut of Eslon Hindundu’s ‘Otjihambarere – A Namibian Fairytale’ which focuses on telling an authentically Namibian story about community, love, betrayal and forgiveness. With great orchestra performances, the festival was an enjoyable one for those in attendance.
