Namibia showcased at Mining Indaba

Namibia will participate in the Investing in African Mining Indaba 2026 to be held from 9 to 12 February 2026 in Cape Town.

The country will use the event to showcase investment-ready mining opportunities and attract new investors and development partners.

The Mining Indaba is one of the world’s largest mining investment conferences.

It brings together governments, investors, mining companies and experts worldwide.

Namibia is known as a stable, predictable mining jurisdiction with rich mineral resources.

These include uranium, diamonds, lithium, rare earth elements, copper, graphite, cobalt, manganese and zinc.

The mining sector is a key part of Namibia’s economy, and plays an important role in economic growth, job creation and industrial development.

Speaking about Namibia’s participation, Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board spokesperson Catherine Shipushu said the country is well positioned to attract investment.

“Namibia offers a stable, predictable and resource-rich mining environment that is aligned with global demand for critical and strategic minerals,” she said.

She added that Namibia is open to both large-scale and small-scale mining investments as part of its long-term development plan.

“We are positioning mining as an integrated pipeline for sustainable growth, value creation and strong mineral supply chains,” she said.

The Namibian government is looking for investors to support exploration, mineral processing and downstream value addition.

The country’s mining sector is already trusted by major international companies , including De Beers Group, B2Gold, Orano and CNNC.

The Namibian delegation to Mining Indaba 2026 will be led by the Deputy Minister of Industries, Mines and Energy Gaudentia Kröhne.

During the event, Namibia will host two key investment-focused sessions.

The first is a Mining Project Investment Pitching Session, hosted in partnership with Rand Merchant Bank (RMB).

It will take place on Wednesday, 11 February 2026, from 09h00 to 11h00, at Portside Tower in Cape Town.

The session will provide investors with direct access to selected, vetted Namibian mining projects.

The second is the Namibia Country Showcase, which forms part of the official Mining Indaba 2026 programme.

This session will highlight Namibia’s mining policies, regulatory framework, geological potential, infrastructure readiness and investment-ready projects.

Government officials and industry experts will also discuss licensing certainty and value addition.

Mining Indaba organisers say interest in the 2026 event is already very strong.

More than 70% of exhibition space was sold shortly after Mining Indaba 2025 ended.

Mining Indaba 2025 attracted over 10 500 delegates from 122 countries, including 58 ministers and 1 400 government officials.

The event was praised for its strong focus on investment, innovation, and partnerships.
