FNB takes top honors for two straight years”

FNB Namibia has been named the Best Bank in Namibia for 2026 by Global Finance, marking the second year in a row the bank has received the award.

The recognition forms part of the Global Finance World’s Best Banks Awards, which honour top-performing banks across the world.

This year’s awards cover countries across Africa, with Namibia included among the leading financial markets on the continent.

Chief executive officer of FirstRand Namibia, Conrad Dempsey said the award reflects the work done across the bank.

“To receive this recognition once again is an incredible honour. This award is the result of years of effort across the organisation, from innovation to customer service,” he said.

He said the bank’s focus has been on understanding customers and offering solutions that meet their daily needs.

“At the centre of it all are our people, who approach banking from the customer’s point of view. This has helped us respond to Namibia’s economic challenges and create solutions that make a difference,” Dempsey said.

Founder and editorial director of Global Finance, Joseph D. Giarraputo, said banks recognised this year have shown strength despite challenges in the global economy.

“The global banking sector continues to show resilience despite pressure from regulations, technology changes and competition. These awards recognise banks that manage their operations well while investing in digital innovation,” he said.

FNB Namibia operates in a fast-changing banking environment, driven by new technology and rising customer expectations. The bank said it continues to invest in digital services and improve how it serves its clients.

Dempsey said the award shows the bank is moving in the right direction.

“It shows that our work is making an impact and that we are adding value to the lives of Namibians,” he said.

Looking ahead, the bank said it will continue focusing on innovation and customer service as it aims to support economic growth in Namibia.
