WINDHOEK – Newly-elected Namibia Football Association (NFA) President, Frans Mbidi, yesterday met the FA secretariat at Football House to discuss issues of mutual consent, as he prepares to commence his tenure as president.
Outlining his vision of making the NFA one of the best-administered football associations in Africa, Mbidi called on the entire staff to recommit themselves and redirect their energy to the betterment of the NFA and football in general.
“Thank you for your dedication and commitment over the years to the NFA’s outgoing executive and I have no doubt you will continue to commit yourselves in our collective pursuit of excellence. We can surely look back on the past with pride as we have achieved a lot under testing conditions and we are indeed well positioned to have a great 2015 and beyond,” Mbidi told the secretariat.
He also told the meeting that together with his two deputies, first vice president Naftal Ngalangi and second vice president Crooks Nunuheb, they would appoint various standing committees aimed at steering the NFA in the right direction.
Mbidi, who yesterday held a meeting with NFA secretariat, including secretary-general, Barry Rukoro, as well as both senior national teams’ coaches, Brave Warriors’ Ricardo Mannetti and Brave Gladiators’ Jacqui Shipanga, added that he also targets to improve coordination, branding and general working conditions at Football House.
“Also note that Ngalangi will be overseeing all adult football, which includes senior national teams and all national teams, while Nunuheb will oversee the operations of all junior football and our education and training programmes. We also need to appreciate our partners more such as the government, FIFA, DFB, GIZ, including our other sponsors so that we optimally utilise resources and achieve our vision,” Mbidi stated.
