By Frederick Philander WINDHOEK A follow-up CD to his very successful first, ‘Whani’s Hit Collection’ by musician Whani Jansen, is currently available at selected sales outlets in the capital. For the first time Whani and his daughter, Amalia, make music together on the same CD – an experience not to be missed. “The success of the first CD actually forced me to bring out the second one titled ‘Classic Entertainer’ comprising tunes such as ‘Rock me Baby’, ‘Can’t Leave You Alone’, ‘Love is in the Air’, ‘What a Wonderful World’, ‘Green Green Grass of Home’, ‘Tennessee Waltz’, ‘Can’t Help Falling in Love’, ‘Joy to the World’ and ‘Beautiful Sunday’,” Whani said excitedly. “My daughter skillfully backs me on this CD, of which I am very proud. I have been working on the production of the CD for the past six months before it was recorded at the NBC studios. She also does a solo tune, ‘Can’t Help Falling in Love’ on the CD. For a trial run I printed 400 copies to see how sales would go. Of course, the printing of more copies remains a strong possibility, money permitting,” said the musician whose CD’s sell very well locally as well as in neighbouring South Africa. The solo band musician is currently working on another album destined for a third CD in December this year. “This time I am working on my own compositions, an inevitable move for any worthwhile musician, his own work. I am taking my time with the tunes and the lyrics on an experimental basis, working towards my final goal,” Whani said rather humbly, yet full of confidence. ‘Classic Entertainer’ can be bought at Woermann Brock in Khomasdal, Caltex Service Station in Bach Street and Total Garage in Khomasdal.
